Welcome to the website of CIE-US! We are responsible for the Japan-America Grassroots Summits in the United States. The Grassroots Summits have been building people-to-people ties between the U.S. and Japan for 25 years, using a unique homestay-based format. The Summits alternate annually between the United  States and Japan. Here on our website, you can find accounts of past summits in locations like Kentucky and Shimane, as well as information on the 2015 Summit, to be held in Oita in July.

The Japan-America Grassroots Summits truly embody the spirit of people-to-people contact between Japan and the United States. In the 25 years Summits have been held, over 40,000 Japanese and Americans have participated, opening each year new sets of friendships and extending connections throughout both countries. We hope that you will be able to participate in a Japan-America Grassroots Summit!
